Welcome to our site!

Spirit Hill Springers is a small breeder of AKC registered English Springer Spaniels.  We have been raising the English Springer Spaniel dog (and puppies) on over 100 acres of beautiful farmland in the foothills of the Virginia Blue Ridge mountains since 2004.   We fell in love with the outstanding temperament of this breed and now we wouldn’t want anything else!  Recently, we were AKC Certified Inspected “In Compliance” in all categories!

Temperament is our number one goal when we breed. Our sires and dams have wonderful, loving dispositions and we strive to make sure all of our pups have outstanding personalities by socializing them from an early age.  All our puppies are raised with lots of TLC and plenty of exposure to cats, sheep, other dogs, small children, etc.  These are “velcro” dogs and will stay beside you forever!!  Many of our puppies have gone on to become AKC Good Canine, Support and Therapy dogs.  They are perfect for these types of programs.  

Good Health is another strong goal in our program.  We have worked hard over the past years to make sure that our puppies are free of bad traits and health problems.  All of our breeding dogs are genetically tested for PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy, a disease common in the ESS.*)  and are now either “Normal” or “Carrier”.  By using only “Normal” sires on the females, there is a 100% guarantee that none of Spirit Hill Springer’s pups will ever have this terrible disease. Our pups are born inside, but are moved to the farm at two weeks of age.  They are raised in an open and natural environment no matter what the weather conditions.  They thrive in this type of environment and we have found that puppies raised this way are bigger, stronger, have thicker coats, and rarely have allergies.  

We strive hard to raise happy, healthy, and well-balanced pups. We also include a 1-year health guarantee.  All puppies are sold with docked tails, dewclaws removed, current vaccinations and wormings, and microchipped with AKC ReUnite Indigo ISO microchips at NO additional fee.
