Health Guarantee

SPIRIT HILL SPRINGS HEALTH GUARANTEE

This puppy has had first vaccination shots against canine parvovirus, parainfluenza, adenovirus cough and distemper. The Buyer must have the puppy examined within five (5) days of pickup from the Breeder by a licensed veterinarian for this Health Guarantee to be valid.

The puppy is guaranteed for one (1) year starting from the date of birth against any life-threatening illness supported by a veterinarian statement. If a licensed veterinarian finds such a life-threatening condition the Buyer, after return of the puppy to the Breeder and with a veterinarian statement, may exchange the puppy for one of equal value or a full refund of the original purchase price. The Buyer agrees to pay any fees associated with the return of the puppy as well as any fee associated with an exchange of a puppy.

Buyer understands that a replacement option is valid only when a documented health problem(s) are attributed to a hereditary condition(s) and not due to accident, maltreatment, neglect, injury, illness or disease contracted while in the Buyer’s possession.

Buyer understands that the following minor genetic defects are not considered life-threatening and therefore are not covered such as, but not limited to: herniated umbilicus, descended testicle(s), under-bite or over-bite. In addition, there are certain disorders that may be caused by environmental factors such as allergies, thyroid dysfunctions, mange and other autoimmune disorders that are not covered by this Health Guarantee.

The Breeder also requires the Buyer to keep the puppy/dog on a regular vaccination program, heartworm prevention and routine worming through a licensed veterinary clinic. If the Buyer fails to do so the Health Guarantee is VOID. This is for the health and safety of the puppy.

In the unlikely event that a puppy is suspected of being Dysplastic in its first 2 years, the Breeder will guarantee a replacement puppy as long as this procedure is followed:
1. Notify the Breeder by telephone or letter within 10 business days of the diagnosis.
2. The OFA must find the dog to be “Severely Dysplastic”.
3. Send the Breeder the veterinarian’s statement detailing that the dog has had x-rays, is not overweight for its height and structure and that it has obtained regular check-ups.
5. The dog must have never been bred.
6. The dog must be in the care of the original buyer.

After meeting the above criteria the Buyer may choose a replacement puppy of equal quality out of any of the Breeder’s litters, subject to availability. If the Buyer chooses to replace the puppy with a more expensive puppy the Buyer is liable for the difference in cost. No additional health guarantee will be issued on the replacement puppy.

Once the puppy leaves the Breeder’s possession, all bills/costs associated with the treatment, examination, care, etc. of the puppy belong solely to the Buyer. If for any reason the Buyer or the Breeder have a dispute that needs to be addressed with a court the Buyer agrees that ALL legal proceedings will be conducted in the county and state in which the Breeder resides.

The Breeder reserves the right to have the puppy examined by the Breeder’s veterinarian at the Breeder’s expense.

No puppy is guaranteed for temperament. It is up to the Buyer to properly socialize their puppy from the time of pickup. Spirit Hill Springers encourages the Buyer to participate in puppy obedience classes to aid in proper socialization, growth and development.

The Breeder has the right to repossess any puppy that they deem is living in a physically or mentally unfit or unhealthy environment.

The puppy, to the best of the Breeder’s knowledge, is in excellent health at the time of the sale.

This health guarantee is issued to new puppies from January 1, 2013
